HISTORY OF TINSMITHING PRODUCTION
The first written mentions of tinsmithing date back to the late 14th century. Historically, tinsmithing is based on blacksmith craftsmanship. The role of tinsmiths has changed over time from producing food containers to focusing on roofing and roof drainage. Their main task is to ensure the roof protection from rainwater and roof drainage by plating and edging the transitions between the roof and building structures. The master did all the work exclusively by hand in the past, but today there are sophisticated blanks designed for edging.
